The Uranium may well be worth millions of dollars, the tourist-spend implications of any downgrade to Arkaroola’s status, as an ECO-tourism destination, will be felt right through the Flinders Ranges and possibly the state. This would be ongoing and irrecoverable. The flow-on cost may make the short-term royalties the government gets from mining Arkaroola insignificant over time.
