Things Missing

I was going camping with dad, I packed a couple of things and chucked them into the suit case. When we got there I got my suit case out of the car. I opened it to get a jumper, it was very cold up there but then I realised that I hadn’t got the right things. I had only got slippers, pyjamas, jumper, spare clothes and my school sand shoes which got wrecked. But we had fun. [Read more...]
Mountaintop Rockpool

After about a 45 minute climb we made it to the top. I didn’t think it would be such a climb so didn’t bother bringing water. However we were pleasantly surprised to find a rock pool left by recent rains, full of fresh, clear water. See related post [Read more...]
Valkyrie, near Orroroo

Valkyrie is a property close to Orroroo, owned by Andrew and Patsy Weckert from Brinkworth. I spoke to Andrew not long ago and he told me how much more he loved farming up here compared to his home country in the mid-north. Andrew and Patsy are very excited by the new growth emerging each year, and the diversity of the remnant vegetation. They have fenced off some areas of the hills totally to conserve the native flora and put in new fencing to strictly manage grazing on the rest of the property.
