Things Missing

I was going camping with dad, I packed a couple of things and chucked them into the suit case. When we got there I got my suit case out of the car. I opened it to get a jumper, it was very cold up there but then I realised that I hadn’t got the right things.  I had only got slippers, pyjamas,  spare clothes and my school sand shoes which got wrecked. Camping with Dad

Scene over the concert site, Melrose

Remarkable Festivals, a progressive offshoot of the Melrose Show Society has built a reputation of class acts and well run events in the last 3 or so years. With the first Rock the Mount event with Steve Forde the benchmark was set. Each event since has been staged with similar great results. Lee Kernaghan calls it his South Aussie “home” and Telstra Road to Tamworth has staged two heats here with a great line up of talent. Arkaroola bush camping

A fine morning now, bush camp up the creek, behind the Arkaroola caravan park. Great sleep, BLOODY DRY!! Arkaroola mallee (eucalyptus gillii) surviving….just, by hell it must be tough! Campfire

Everybody knows it….that the most precious commodity is time. Pity we don’t do better things with it. Sometimes you have to take a chunk where you can. Back in April I managed to sneak a three night trip in with Charlie. He hadn’t really been camping before, you know in a swag, with a campfire. So while the girls (Mum and his big sister) were playing ‘rellies wedding preparations’ in Adelaide, WE sneaked away.
