Valkyrie, near Orroroo

Valkyrie is a property close to Orroroo, owned by Andrew and Patsy Weckert from Brinkworth. I spoke to Andrew not long ago and he told me how much more he loved farming up here compared to his home country in the mid-north. Andrew and Patsy are very excited by the new growth emerging each year, and the diversity of the remnant vegetation. They have fenced off some areas of the hills totally to conserve the native flora and put in new fencing to strictly manage grazing on the rest of the property. Depot Hill near, Orroroo

Depot hill is actually the one on the far left. Orroroo is our home town, and I’m continually amazed what can be found within 50 odd km. This view looks southwards, from here, on a clear day, you can see the wind farm down near Spalding some 80km away and northwards close to the same distance.
